Supplying customized electrical switchgear to large-scale city developments must be quick, precise, and adaptable. When a Manhattan high-rise project was halted for years during the COVID-19 pandemic, East Coast Power Systems stepped in to finish the job under significant time and logistical constraints. With only eight weeks to complete the remaining electrical infrastructure, our crew jumped into action quickly to accept the challenge.
Contact UsEast Coast Power Systems was contracted to manufacture and supply custom switchgear and load centers for a high-rise Manhattan structure. The project began in 2019, where several of the switchboards were already dispatched. The remaining units were under production when the COVID-19 pandemic interrupted operations across the city.
Because the project was indefinitely shelved, equipment in the factories was disassembled, and on-site equipment sat idle for years. For nearly three years, the project’s status was uncertain.
The project resumed following the pandemic. East Coast Power Systems was then asked to complete the outstanding work under a severely tightened timeline. The customer required an electrical equipment firm that could act quickly without sacrificing safety standards and performance.

The East Coast Power Systems personnel started immediately to complete the work in accordance with the new timeline. With only eight weeks available and no time for a standard approval drawing procedure, internal departments coordinated to have real-time communication, material readiness, and production flow.
We recalled the delivered switchgear back to the factory for refurbishment, and the remaining switchboards and load centers were constructed and shipped according to schedule.
Contact UsEach product was specifically designed to accommodate the demands of large-scale city expansion. Reliability, code compliance, and compatibility with the existing electrical grid were stressed through design. East Coast Power Systems maintained its high degree of precision manufacturing and quality control, despite the constraint of limited time.
All equipment met project specifications and city safety codes, ensuring durability for the long haul in a high-demanding setting.

East Coast Power Systems completed the retooled high-rise project in eight weeks. Our crew refurbished on-site equipment, finished switchboard manufacture, and installed more than 100 load centers—without compromising safety or quality.
This project enhances East Coast Power Systems’ ability to expand rapidly, operate under schedule, and deliver customized solutions for complex electrical infrastructure demands.
Contact UsCustom electrical switchgear is power distribution equipment engineered around the specific electrical, space, performance, and safety requirements of a building or facility. Custom configurations can be especially important in large commercial developments where standard equipment may not meet the project’s layout or infrastructure needs.
High-rise buildings require reliable power distribution across multiple floors and systems while often working within tight electrical-room and equipment-space constraints. Custom switchgear allows equipment to be designed around the building’s electrical loads, available space, existing infrastructure, and code requirements.
Yes. East Coast Power Systems supports projects in New York City and throughout the United States. For this Manhattan high-rise project, the company manufactured custom switchgear, refurbished previously delivered equipment, and supplied more than 100 load centers for the building.
Yes, depending on the condition of the equipment and the requirements of the project. In this case, East Coast Power Systems recalled previously delivered switchgear to its factory for refurbishment while also completing the remaining switchboards and load centers.
Project timelines depend on equipment complexity, engineering requirements, materials, approvals, and production capacity. For this Manhattan project, East Coast Power Systems completed the remaining electrical equipment work within an eight-week timeline after the project resumed following a multi-year delay.
East Coast Power Systems supplied engineered switchboards, reconditioned electrical switchgear, and more than 100 load centers. The equipment was designed to meet project specifications, city safety requirements, and the demands of a large-scale high-rise development.
East Coast Power Systems coordinates engineering, materials, manufacturing, refurbishment, and production internally to help reduce delays between project phases. On this project, departments communicated in real time and coordinated material readiness and production flow to meet the compressed eight-week schedule.
